My friend has recently founda nokia 7250i and its in a1 condition except for the fact that it has been network barred. he is willing to sell it to me for $60 but is there anyway to remove this bar and am i likely to get in trouble for using this phone with a pre-pay account thanks

i thnk you may need to ring up the network and get it unlocked, this can cost a bit but you are getting a good deal considering a new one s AU$750(ish) and no u wont get in trouble for using this phone with a pre paid account (as long as u remove the bar)

it's just a matter of imputting a code and your phone is unlocked, no cables are flashers needed, you can do it yourself easy
you just need this imput
Here is how to enter your code once you have it:
Power off phone and REMOVE SIM
Power phone back on without sim
Push #
Push * key 3 times (you will see p)
Push * key 4 times (you will see w)
Push * key 2 times (you will see a +)
Enter the 15 digit code
Push the * ket 2 times (you will see +)
Type the lock digit (this will typically be 7)
Push #
That's it - The phone should display "Phone restrictions off"

it is better go to the network centre and ask for refresh your network..much more safety..
