if i were to give u a choice between 6230 and 6600 , which one would u choose?
(this question asked casue over here , both the phones cost the same )
6230's interface has upgraded from previous series40 phones indeed
actually 6230's menu style can be choosen between GRID & also LIST Mode
now my only wish is to have this 6230 and lovin' it much
but the list mode isnt really list, its traditional menu with the gigantic picture and the name
o..., but at least i think its a decent improvment from the previous series40...
Agree ... except for IR-lovers :-)
Yeah is 6600 is actually boring and fat. I like 6230 even its series 40
count me as one of the IR-LOVERS lol but i do love 7610 too

Do you need a phone or a smartphone?
I would agree with oTaRu that large screen and Symbian 7.0 OS is good. However I personally prefer a phone with stereo for convienient mp3 playback. I couldn;t care less about the smartphone features as java apps serve me fine as it is. That said if the 6600 supported stereo mp3 then I would have a harder time considering based on the look and feel of the phones. The 6230 is not as fat as the 6600 and I do not think the 6600 supports EDGE.
Having said all that I do want to make it clear that it's all about preference as to what you use the phone for yourself and what you find to be value for money. I am not against the 6600 or its featureset at all. Both phones are good.

i haven't owned any of these phones but from the reviews
i would say go for the 6230
but depends on what you want to use it for
Business: Small, fast
Home: Big screen, easy to use, lots of memory

i would go for 6600 as 6230 is overpriced.
if its price is lower,it will be more attractive.

What is better MS Word or MS Excel?
?
Right. Depends on what you want from it. Word can draw tables too, but Excel is designed for tables...
So, if your primarily use phone to make calls - 6230, if it is more like PDA for you - 6600.
BTW, it is really hard to use Series40 flat user interface after Symbial-style app grid... command line vs GUI :-)

so far...i think 6230 is a very mature phone among series40...if u prefer series40 very much...6230 is definitely your choice...
however...i feel that 6600 is not mature enough among smartphones...time is needed to wait for the mature one...but if u really like smartphone very much...7610 will be better choice...
