does this phone record video for 9 to 12 seconds like 6600 or longer?
Well, how often do you shoot 4-5 minutes in a row with a camcorder? At least I do that very rarely if ever. You can alway take another shot...
It decodes H.263 and MPEG-4 VSP in 3gp file format and encodes H.263 and wraps it to 3gp file format. Sound format is AMR.
It doesn't have a RealPlayer in it. What it comes to the quality of h.263, with the same bit- and frame rate it doesn't have any quality difference to Real codecs.

is it counted by memory space?...I thought series 40 phones video recording length is counted by seconds...150 seconds for 6230...

quality are the same for both phones...if I am not mistaken both are having the resolution of 170x144...15fps....
but if videos are played by the phone...of course 6230 is not as good as 6600...since 6230 has a small screen...

Default is 15 sec. - by that it will be under the normal 100Kb limit for mms - however, it is possible to change the setting to max. which is apprx. 4 min.

anwyay....4-5 minutes is not a very attractive amount...of course it is much better than 10 seconds...but...I prefer the 7610's 10 minutes video record length...hehe...
