Nokia 6230 full of bugs!

I was on the verge of maybe getting one of these till i read some of these expriences encountered by owners of a Nokia 6230.

It's making me doubt a lot about getting a 6230 too.. How about other manufacturors? Never heard about them encountering so many bugs in their phone-software! You'd pressume Nokia knows the S40 software inside-out already, not too different from a 6610 which has been out for 2 years now...

don`t believe the hype, i`ve had one for about six weeks now and have not experienced anything bad about it other than you can not have seperate folder`s for different albums on mmc. other than that this phone is the dady.
one thing that gets me though is the build up of dust under the screen.

hey,thats bad for them,although maybe only we(mobile freaks) are the people that know all those things.A big part of the people which buy those high class cell phones,just say:give some nokia which has all the new things on the market:Anyway maybe in the nest software version this will be corrected(like in cars electronics)

every phone that comes on the market, with first SW have got some bug's... not more than the 6230, not less...
Only the bug's in the 6230 are more discussed then other models (due high sellings???)

Hype?? what hype??? You just cant ignor all thise peoples complaints..

Im sure many other phones have been "high selling" before.. so I don't buy that one.. But if you type "Nokia 6230 problems" in Google.. you get the biggest problem list ever..

Having said that, I still gonna buy me one... hahaha

My 6230 is working quite ok.... I admit that the dust going under the screen is anoying. What comes to the softwarebugs I have to agree with

The 6230 is the old Series 40 software ported onto a new hardware platform with new application software bolted on. It could cause there to be a few more bugs than is usual with a Series 40 phone. Plus every software engineer at Nokia has been called into service on the next version - Series 45, although Nokia is not officially calling it that as far as I can tell - leaving few resourses availible to bug-hunt on the old Series 40.

not 100% correct, series 40 v2 is a new software version (based upon series 40) that runs only (at this moment) on the 6230 and 5140 but was develloped on the 6230...
But also never forget that this phone got the most function ever build in this type of model...

God dam!! you guys are psychos.. living, breathing phone data phreaks!!! lol. But you know what? That's a good thing, cos if your gonna do anythng.. why not do it properly!!!
Take it to the max.. be an expert in your field.. why not.

..and I'm still going to buy me a Nokia 6230 handset!!!
