FYI: At the CeBit I've taken the same picture with my 7650 and with a 7610 to check the quality of the new MP-cam in comparison to the standard series60 VGA-cams.

I think you have a wrong impression - that girl working at the 7610-counter was allready one of the prettiest of all nokia-girls this year (!)
I think nokias tactic on this is:
hire ugly girls for the tradeshow to let the costumers look more at the mobiles than at the girls
and: yeah, I think the quality is better than before. the picture is brighter and of course has a higher resolution.
but I still don't think that the quality of 1 MP is good enough for professional use...
for myself, I'm not quite clear if the 7610 mmc and 1MP-cam is worth to changing it instead of my 7650?!? well, let's see...
Focus balance?
Up to my knowledge of optics the only way to make picture deep focused is to use vignetter (some people with not so perfect sight use that trick to see things better too), which is not possible with non-apertured phone camera.
Or did you expect 3-point focusing, laser distance meter and moving objects tracking system? Go by yourself professional Canon, Nikon or whatever brand you like :-)
Yes, it has the best focus in the center only, same as all disposable cameras (focus-free) do.
Professional use? 1MPix? Don't be ridiculous. I hope we don't have any photographers reading this - they'd die crying...
Main problem with 7650 camera was HUGE vignetting effect (dark corners), so you virtually have a bright spot in the center, but evrything around is dark and blurry.
I think 7650 camera is not even comparable to any of the later phones - it was really very first try.

Nice picture quality... Much better then the 7650, but the girl isn't that pretty. I allways thought that on tradeshows like Cebit they searched for the hottest german girls to seduce the costumers to go and look at their 'products'...

do u all see the backgroud?....very blur...I have seen a lot of photo taken by 7610...I found that the camera just provides some clear and sharp quality to certain items in the photo...not balance at all...

just dun aspect too much on phone's camera...as long as it can take clear photos...professional??...still a long way to go...
