1GB mmc card now available for 6600

cant believe this is available from riostore, this thing will hold that much video i reckon my phone will explode.great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! £299.99

Keep in mind that those MMC-cards are more expensive than 1gb SD. Too bad the Nokia 6600 can't handle SD, a common format.
__________________
MMC cards are designed for mobile phones and PDA's, due to low batteryusage, hot swapable, and small size...

it's indeed bad that those cost a lot, but when more mmc-cards are going to be sold the price will drop...
__________________
SD cards are used in digital cameras, are cheaper and the same size, odd that Nokia phones aren't compatible with them.

But i search it from internet..i couldnt find too.. i look amazon.com but i couldnt find it too!where do you live??
does someone know from where i buy it?

1GB, is it for real N6600 can deploy such hugh memory capacity???
__________________
yeah, it probably can, but at what speed, the more/bigger files on the mmc card, the slower the phone will work, ps. good advice: 'defrag your mmc' makes your phone works faster...

It is not very efficient for 6600 I guess.. Nokia 6600 only has a small RAM not even a MB if I'm not wrong.. It will be useful for PDA which has higher RAM...
__________________
I wonder if the same card will work in the ol' 6230???
__________________
I think it is not recommended to deploy such huge momory into a mobile phone, too big to handle...
Probably we should search more info about the maximum capacity of memory card to be used for safety caution... Or ask NOKIA's CS...

Best cameraphone on the market for 165 USD ?

Hello

I'm considering buying a new phone for 165 USD
I want itto have, primarily a good camera and i want the picture quality to be good enough for me to be able to put it on my computer.
Camera phones im considering are ericsson T610 (100 USD)and Motorola V500 (165 USD) ... which is the best of these, considering price as well ?
I've seen pictures taken with a Ericsson 68i camera accesory and i liked the quality of these, are any phones available for under 165 USD with that kind of quality ? Especially any of the aforementioned ?
But any cameraphones with real good picture quality for under 165 USD would be great

You saw pictures made with the SonyEricsson MCA-25 communicam, pictures are good due the fact that it is an external attachable camera. In my opinion quite clumsy, I have a Ericsson T68 myself with attachable mp3-player and stereo FM-radio, they didn't work well, connection problemes all the time, but OK. I have an 20gb mp3-player now, my next phone has mp3-functionality, bluetooth, memory card slot, MPEG/DivX, and it has an internal a camera Much better than an external camera.

First of all, the Motorola V500 is much better than the older T610. The V500 has a far better screen - 176*220 pixels TFT and a VGA camera, while the T610 has an STN screen and a 352*288 pixel camera.

If you want to compare the pictures, just check the Motorola forum, there are pictures post made by the Motorola V600 which has comparable camera-quality.

Yup...V500 will have a better camera than T610...but not the best one...

Agree. Take a look at the quality of the Sharp GX-20 or even the old Nokia 7650, i've attached a photo made by the 7650.

Speaking of cam & screen quality, no doubt SHARP is the best...
Forget about SE's cam, even the latest released phones (Z600 & T630) still a CIF cam crap...

The 6230?
Seriously, does it have an official launch date yet?

Not the 6230 but basically the same specification but with an iPod style controller. The version launched may not be 3G but it will certainly be an interesting model.

That one is not 3G (3700 or 3800, cannot remember - did they keep that one then?). It is interesting idea, makes scrolling names very very fast.

Software update on 6310i (v5.22)

currently have v5.22. Need to update this to v5.51. Nokia says I need to go to a service centre. The one in London (in the basement of Carphonewarehouse, Oxford St.) says it will cost me GBP 30.00. Surely there must be cheaper options. Can I do this myself...?!

Please help!!!

If you still have warranty it will cost nothing, but offcourse if that is not....
you can do it yourself offcourse, it called flashing, but the material you need to do it, also cost money...
i give you an example;
you need a Mbus data cable (not the M/Fbus because that is for uploading logo's and ringingtones etc...)
you also need an PS/2 adaptor (eventualy this is the flashcable) depends on the device himself, most devices has got there own adaptor.
and then you need the software (most don't run on WinXP) and the flashfiles (on sale/some are free)
this is going to cost you (because you have an older phone about 50 Euro...)

So you can find someone who does flashing and do it for some less money...

here is a website for more information
http://www.freewebs.com/gsminfo2/flashing.htm
http://www.unlockme.co.uk/unlockme.html

ps. flashing a phone is hard and dangerous, because you also can destroy the phone if you do something wrong... if you wanna do it, first read everything you need to do, be sure you have everything, and check even dubble check if everything is correct.
The information i is given just for educational puposes, just know how, but stay off...

thanks for all the help. Have actually done it now. Found a local place in North London where they wanted GBP 20.00 for the upgrade to 5.50 (They didn't have anything more recent).

Bargained them to GBP 15.00 so I think I prefered to have paid this instead of buying all the kit. Again, many thanks to all the helpful folk out there, much appreciated.
