can a java application be used for both Se and Nokia or it must be different?????? __________________ depends on what kind of format is the java application... if I am not mistaken both brand are using different format... __________________ I tryed using some applications from se on my nokia but they dont work so I think they must be different. __________________ java is a computer language to write program's and games, but when they compile the program into a Jar file, they add data what type of phone you use. Like what kinda screen (large, big) etc. So it's easy to devellop on game, write it in one and the same language (java) and then compile it for every mobile brand. in the past they had to rewrite a game/program for every brand based on own language. hi, sorry for my english but i'm italian... when the new nokia 7610 will go on trade? i've got many date...june, july, september!!!  and for the prize?!?! __________________ i'm thinking may/june and I'm unaware of the price __________________ depends on where you are... lets take 6230 as example...a lot of people already have it in the hand...but I can't even see a shop that is selling this phone in my country... __________________ I would not be that optimistic... it seems to be at least 3 months ahead and that ends up on summer vacations time... so september sounds more realistic to me. Availability in Italy depends on local operators approval, they usually set trends by selling substantial amount of new phones... Price tag is expected to be quite high, since it is considered to be "fashionable" __________________ i think it will be available in June (general in July), they are really doing there best to fill there gabs in there portfolio. The price is estemated at 500 Euro, for a megapixel/Symbian/65K screen/Bluetooth enabled phone, i think the price is ok __________________ Yes me too. I really think it's coming out around the late June early July period. Kris do you know when is Nokia gonna start haing handphones with 262000K TFT colour screens ? __________________ They're still into 4k, (6610i, 3120, Ngage QD) i doubt we'll see some 256K before 2005 ! __________________ Well that sucks big time. The 7200 is such a half-hearted attempt to topple Samsung's foothold in the clamshell market, and they're taking too many risks with their designs; the 7600 is not selling well and people have gotten too bored of the 3650's look to be compelled to buy the 3660. The 7610 is but another nail in their coffin, and did they seriously think something as incredibly hideous as the 7700 could sell? They've just gotten too complacent; they've lost the magic that made them no.1 in the first place. I have the Nokia 3200 for a review now, the keyboard, design, and screen sucks but it's not an bad phone at all. Sharp CIF shots from the camera and the IrDa is excellent without any use of software, like my Ericsson T68 and Motorola MPX200. I can send stuff from my T68 to my MPX200 to the Nokia 3200 and over. Works perfectly, whish Samsung did something to this, the e700's irda is cripple  __________________ I never worry about Nokia...of ourse Samsung is giving Nokia a big competition...but Samsung and other brands still far away to catch up on Nokia for the user-friendly interface... if a phone has a bad interface,bad reception and lack of functions...who cares how does the phone flips?...who cares about the rotating screen?...who cares how amazing of the design? It's hard to say anything without description, but basically, these things are going to appeal, and many people will be moving back to nokia on the strength of these new releases. At the end of the 2004 year, Nokia line up will look very very good, I guarantee it. Nokia 6230 bug and battery life?
I set my caller groups to use MP3 files as ringtone... everything is OK but when I change to Silent mode, if somebody calls me from my group it rings and it's problem when I am somewhere where it have to be silent. Anyone else try it? And I can't do more than 2 days with my battery.. how others do? Thank You __________________ I'm not sure, but I think I read about this caller group bug and you can fix it by restoring the phone to factory settings and then powering off and on again. I think then it will be fixed permanently but I'm not sure. Also from what I've read that battery life sounds normal. But I'm not sure because I dont have the phone (yet). __________________ I do 4-7 days on a charge.. 4-5 calls / day listen to the radio 10min / day... fiddeling around with it.. uses the Infrared a bit / day.. so something is strange with your battery.. __________________ Get the software upgrade and the callergroups work just fine __________________ an even easier solution, reset the phone to the manufactuer settings, and your callergroups should work fine __________________ This is a different problem. Indeed, when I set an mp3 for a caller group it keeps ringing even in silent mode. You can allways personalise the silent profile to alert for no calls, but in this case you can't use the vibrator. It doesn't seem like a solution to me. Where can I find the software upgrade? Is it somewere in the nokia site? Does anybody else have problem using the phone browser with BT? I can't manage to open my gallery file, allthough the other features work with BT.
