some problems on 6230

heylo all

basically it a nice phone but i have one major dissapointment .

y did they use edge on thisp phone . our local phone line dealer doesnt support edge at the moment and so i cant use gprs and mms on it its realli dissapointing .. all the time i have to switch between 7250 and 6230 . so basically the screen , camera everything is useless for me causei cant send/recieve mms .

2) how can i directly upload stuffs ( songs , vedios , tones) on the mmc card? the pc suite provided with the phone doesnt have any way of putting things directly to the mmc card.

Yeah I got the same response they said they still need the right configurations and settings for the phone and have to wait for a few weeks till it will work with thier network.. the other problem I'm having with my 6230 is the charging time takes toooooo long, it's been charging for approximately 4 hrs and 50 min and still going by the time i post this message

My dealer told me to drain the entire power in the battery then charge it full, maybe it took that long coz its my first charge, the phone was new and fatory charged or I'm using a 220v outlet coz i think it will charge faster if I use a 110v outlet like what I usually did with my n8310 to bad i need a round adaptor for that

The nokia 6230 supports GPRS and EDGE, so normaly you can install GPRSsettings on your phone, and so you can send MMS without any problem...

just go to http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,32863,00.html
(Nokia - support - phone support - settings)
and fill in all data

My Telecom Service provider already set my n6230 and now I can use gprs and browse some wap sites, thank goodness unfortunately I can only access wap sites selected by my telecom service also they told me I can also send MMS but haven't tried it yet .... My telecom service also doesn't have edge so the gprs and mms can still work even egde is not activated

Here in Scandinavia we have full edge support. Atleast the two biggest providers have edge support So if you want to experience the full effect of the 6230, move to Scandinavia

As far as the MMC card goes, there is no way to load stuff right onto the MMC card unless you remove the card from the phone and put it in a card reader. That way you can transfer loads of data onto the card in one scoop.

No provider in Sweden have support edge...

Well that's not exactly accurate.... You can sure transfer stuff into the MMC by using BT and PC suite
The only thing is, you'll have to give a name to the MMC first. Otherwise it won't work...

why do you have to give it a name? and does it tell you to do this in any of the instructions? my point is do people who dont visit these forums have to struggle? cheers

I don't know why it is so. I guess the pc can't see it without a name. Or maybe it's a bug. Anyway, I learned about it in one of these forums too, and I agree nokia should give its customers such information. Or at least should give a name to mew MMC cards...

The bottom line is, it works. I'd be happy to know a similar way that the other bug (mp3 ringing for caller groups while in silent profile ) gets fixed....
