what do you want to see from nokia in 2004

what do you think nokia will realise in 2004, some more clamshell, a new communicator, an successor of the nokia 8910, ... or will they release a phone made totaly of paper... what do you think, what will it be for this new year???

I have a vision of Nokia releasing a successor to the 8910i, but with the form factor of the LG 7050. Internal aerial obviously, but you know what i mean.

New communicator, and same old everything else...

What about disposable phones, I saw one company talking about that a while back, not that I'd buy one but wouldn't put it past them.

disposable fones?? how do they work?

n e way i hope to c a successor 2 the 7210 like a proper candy bar fashion fone not the 7200 also a new top class fone maybe 8950??

another entry class fone colour screen fone 2 replace 3100

and i also think noia may introduce a 4xxx series finally i think maybe that will be clamshell with obviously much improved screen and more features just a thought tho

at the end of 2004 i think they will not be producing any fone that does not have colour screens and poly tones also a 2MB storage minimum would be good

bluetooth does not have to be a standard but more fones with that would be good

and IrDA will finally be much improved after years of it being basically useless

i would also like to see middle to top fones come standard with 65k screens and 40 or 64 chord poly with a higher resolution than 128 x 128. 176 x 208 would be nice but highly unlikely...

just my thoughts

i hope they will release a better version of 6230 (maybe with symbian os) but in clamshell form.... secong lcd screen must be a colour one...

I have read it on newspaper once, Japan has such as phone already, but not sure if it has been marketed, yet...
It is like prepaid phone card, it has a call credit that can be used to make a phone call... When it is run out, just dispose it.... Quite unique thought, just wonder if it is really applicable in reality...

I wish NOKIA would produce a new phone with specification as follows:
- size as mine N8250,
- 64K TFT LCD, 128 X 128 pixels,
- 24 polyphonic chords would be sufficient enough,
- standard most NOKIA's cripple IrDa, won't bother me since I won't use it anyway,
- at least 3MB of memory,
- built in FM Radio,
- no built in digital camera,
- metal housing with copper color.

I would have one if they would produce such as phone...

yeah I know the disposable phones sound nuts, but i think we could see them, not that I want to see them!

I would prefer better quality phones as the quality from nokia seems to be taking a dive, particularly at the lower end of the market.

Hope the 6230 is made with better quality plastic than recent new releases, and more high end stuff would be nice rather than just fashion phones.

It is quite gd quality actually!!! Its tough, light & smooth plastic, its wierd, its kinda like the 7250's but a bit better!

Sounds good, just saw the 3200 and 3100 and thought the keys and general quality were awful!

Quite liked the 7250i though.

Yea i know! If u like the 7250i's quality, then u'll like the 6230's quality!

I would like to see upgradeble phones. So when your phone gets old, you can just upgrade it. Just like a computer
__________________
That would be cool, but I don't think they will as they can make more money by mass producing new phones.

It would be nice to upgrade as if you like the look of your old phone it's a shame to get a crappy looking phone that is better technically.

I hate how you see a new phone and it has only one important quality missing!

I would like to c 6230 with bigger screen, less weight(optional), more memory (as I can store more MP3s, MMC), camera quality like SHARP S50xxx.
+++++++ never ending!!!!

Firstly i've heard of disposable phones being available in the USA, i think they're a good idea for travellers for example, especially considering American's have to be different to most other countries (no offence to any americans here) and most other older phones dont work there. But apart from that i cant see why you'd want one!

Rockon 83: I agree your idea seems very good, if they could somehow squeeze a 176x208 screen into the body of the 6230 and enable it to use larger memory cards with no problems and Symbian that would be an awesome phone. Yes you said Quad band too, that would be very handy when travelling. Better still Quad band + WCDMA 3G, but i think that would just be wishful thinking, for this year anyway!

Also if it had an aluminium housing that would be nice, it would make it stronger meaning you wouldnt need as much space around the screen, leaving room for a bigger screen!

I guess Nokia will no launch any more some middle class phones without integrated camera.. Because today Nokia supports strongly the use of MMS technology

NOKIA's cam is nothing than a toy, just as worst as SE's cam...
It will add more value, so I would rather buy a phone with a good screen without built in cam cause I won't be using it after all...
Unless the cam quality can compete with Sharp GX20, for sure I want it badly...

The idea of disposable phone I think is as replacement of public telephone, not for something that you can use to be contacted by others... So, the idea is unique, but just don't know if it is applicable in reality... :confused"

For sure that...6230 is going to be a big hit in the town...so...Nokia is going to released a few more models which have the similar features with 6230...plus a few upgrated functions...Nokia used this stratergy many times before...so those who rush for the 6230 will be regret soon...haha...(I am waiting for 6230 too)

What I hope is a candy bar phone similar size to 6230...bigger screen(6600 screen? if possible, as good quality as digital camera's screen), less thickness(as slim as 6100), nicer design(no more plastic housing PLEASE!!!)....ya right....never ending... :P

My dreamphone from Nokia in 2004;

Design like the Nokia 8850 or something similar. Maybe instead of the slide function, it will have the "candy bar" shape. But the housing must be brushed aluminium or similar (Something light metal)

As of functions it must have all the functions the 6230 has. But maybe Series 60 or Series 90 (Like the 7700). A bigger and sharper screen is also preferable. 32 or 64 chord polyphonic, 1.3 mpixel camera, Memory Card slot placed on the side so there is no need for turning the phone off in order to change the memory. And the size must offcourse be a minimum, maybe like the 8310, or a tad bigger. Not more than 90grams... Hmm, maybe im dreaming to much, oh well!

That would truly have been a yummi phone!!

That would be a nice phone. But, there's one little thing in your wish. You want Series 90 UI, which has 640x320 screen resolution in the phone size of 8310. That Series 90 screen is bigger in dimension wise than the whole 8310...

We will see the mobile setting smaller & smaller slowly intergrating themselves into the most normal of objects. (Watch? Belt!?) The Medallion is clearly just to test the water, would any normal person actually wear one? So why else would Nokia actually release it?

I have attached a pic of the Medallion, if you look real close you can see a badger!!
