Hello. Im new to this but i wanted to ask if it's possible to get some sort of cabel, connect to the phone and edit/delete/backup the OS or what it's called on mobiles. I have this old 3310 and i want to play a little with it. __________________ it's possible to do things with it and it called flashing... i'm going to give you some links to other forums who are more specialized on this matter... http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/ http://nokiafree.org/forums/ those 2 are quite good on this stuff so visit them; but don't forget this forum... ![]() __________________ Ok, thanks! Well to specify a little what i want is not to edit logos or pictures or some ringtones, nor unlock or something like that. I want to get to the real core of the phone, and edit that. Thanks for the quick answer btw. ![]() __________________ u'll probably end up seriously mucking up your phone but have fun! ![]() __________________ Yay! First of all, im kinda causious, second i don't mind if my phone breaks, im not that serious about owning a cell phone =) Anyway, i found some really useful stuff on that last forum, the Nokia Flash Reverse...bla bla forum, hehe, too bad though i can't register for downloading the software, i'll try to find something about that on the forums later.. __________________ don't forget you need special cables for flashing and some boxes... and those cost a lot (100Euro)... but hey, if you wanna have some fun... i remember that with the 8210 I change the menuicons, added new menu's and arranged them... for the rest you can't really mess up things more than that... or do a software update. one last thing to say, one mistake and your phone will not boot up anymore. be aware __________________ Just go to any mobile shops...ask for a firmware reinstall update...done!! __________________ Thanks for the warning guys, i have already found a flash-cable set for around 50 ˆ but now when i have read through tons of texts and forum-topics it seems futile to install your own OS because apparently no one has a open-source GSM stack that you can use with your OS and as a result of that you can't call or send/recieve SMS's either so i'll think i'll skip it for now.
