Hi I can't set up the phone for email. I have followed the guide from my network provider. But I can't choose an access point under the menu Installation for user where the guide say I shall. So I'll wait untill it does. My problem should be a small one though since my GPRS and MMS is working. some truths about nokia's current models
heylo all . this week i got to test alot of phones . let me see if i can help u out with some pros. and cons. of all the phones i used . any questions u have , dont hesitate to ask me off . 7200 ( 570$ ) the first flap phone by nokia . and O boy wat a useless one . 1) the screen is to small for camera . pic looks good when u take a zoom mode otherwise its all crampped up in the small screen 2) textile covers feel nice but get dirty soon . u get only one cover with the pack . i wished i could had got 3/4 covers for the price i paid ! 3) this phone is slow! unlike the nokia phones . this phone reminds me of SEt610 4) keypads r stiff u have to use a little power to click them . 5) quality built is not good at all! . in the dark i can seel ight coming out from the casing . specially on the sides of the screen . 6) ring tones are soft . i guess 7250 was louder then this phone . 7) only 4 m.b memory!!! wat was nokia thinking man!!!!! 8) no bluetooth , dual band , 570$ :S 8) vedio is 50 secs . 6230 (500$) 1) the back cover is realli loose its shakes and squicks 2) there is no way to add in movies inside the memory card directly (well there is if u have a card reader) otherwise from the pc suite there aint 3) there used the older handsfree (7250) which isnt quiet good looking . i like the new one (7200) (7600) 4) the keppads are just gr8! so is the speaker ! 5) the screen is nice but again pics look very cramped up when u see the pics but when u zoom it in , the screens a beauty! 6) radio works gr8 7) vedio is 4 mins . 6230 in the USA
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a Nokia 6230 in the states for around $250? I have looked all over (even eBay) and I can only find them for $450-$500. I have checked out Mobileq.co.uk, but am not comfortable paying £20 for something that I am not sure I will even get (or will get when the phone is worth only £20). Please help!!! I am willing to purchase the phone from abraod, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Nokia 6230 MP3 bug
Hello, Just wondering if anybody else has this problem: My 6230 came with a MP3 song on the MMC card. However it, and other MP3s which I have copied accross, skip around every 10 seconds and sometimes the phone crashes. Even when an MP3 is assigned as a ring tone it skips. I am using the 32MB MMC card that came with the phone. - Andrew __________________ just look at all the forums you'll see that alot of people are complaining about it. i think this is an expencive lesson for you. never buy such a thing when its new on the market. and also listen to the reviews before it hits the market. __________________ I don't have such problems.... __________________ I also dont have that problem but I use AAC format, I use small Mp3 clips for a Message tone alerts . Maybe the cause of skipping is due to transfering of files via faulty bluetooth connection, bad MMC reader/writer (have one of those and its sending my n6230 corrupt files even files that are there but can't be seen in the phomes menu), or bad data cable. The mp3 "Strange Transmissions" that came with the MMC plays smoothly, but if it really skips no matter what you do, better take it to the nokia service center hopefully you got warranty.__________________ I don' have any problem of that kind either. And I was one of the first to get my hands on it.. __________________ Also had my phone for a few weeks with no mp3 skipping problems. i put a 128mb card in last week before my trip to the USA and filled it with mp3s all 128k 44.1k and no probs. "Slow to Adapt, Nokia Loses Market Share in Latest Cellphones LONDON, April 16 - Nokia, the world's largest mobile phone maker, paid a heavy price on Friday for missing the trend toward stylish clamshell phone handsets, denting its vaunted reputation as the arbiter of cellphone chic. Biting into Nokia's market share, the company's hottest rival, Samsung Electronics, reported soaring profits, while Nokia forecast a further slump. Nokia shares touched a 13-month low as investors began looking toward other cellphone makers regarded as likely to tap into a market of fleeting fashions and fickle loyalties. "No brand can stay cool forever," said Peter Firstbrook, an analyst with the META Group, a technology research consultant firm in Stamford, Conn. "Nokia has been slow to adapt." The contrast between Nokia, based in Finland, and Samsung, based in South Korea, could hardly have been more stark as they made their announcements a few hours apart. Samsung recorded $2.7 billion in profit in the first quarter, an increase of 178 percent from the period a year ago and its best quarter ever; sales were up 50 percent. Nokia said that the 2 percent drop in its first-quarter profits, announced last week, could be followed by second-quarter sales that are likely to be "slightly below" the $8.4 billion it recorded in the period last year. Samsung executives seemed surprised by the surge in their company's fortunes, and forecast better things to come in the second quarter. Nokia said it was "not satisfied with our sales development during the first quarter." Nokia still has the leading share of the world handset market, manufacturing 35 percent of the 128 million mobile phones sold in the first quarter. But Nokia lost three percentage points of share from the last quarter of 2003, while Samsung, which ranks third by sales volume after Nokia and Motorola, gained ground. Is anyone from the UK and bought the Nokia 6230, as I'm looking to buy one myself shortly. What are your impressions, where did you buy it, was it on contract or sim free (if sim free how much did you pay for it). The speed on internet on the 6100 is faster but the 3100 is working on wap 2.0 wile the 6100 is a wap 1.2... For the rest, same screen, both triband. so that not very much, so we go to the design... The 3100 is more made for youth and the 6100 is more a small business device... 6230 radio via loudspeaker
Hi there! I just got my 6230 just yesterday and I love it (thank u kristof.vanriet, Tu!@ng Man, Bigbry, the phone is really fast)! A really good business device! Anyways, please don't flame me because this might have been asked already several times for other phones, but why can't u play radio via the loudspeaker!?!? This should only be a software matter?!
