guys i tried to configure the 3200 and 6600 to get mms and to gprs but nothing works .... is there a glitch in these handsets or is it made tht way ?????? i noticed tht both these handsets have EDGE in it . is it cause of tht??? __________________ Only 3200 is an EDGE handset, but that's not the issue here. Both of these handsets use TCP/IP instead of WAP. Ask your operator the right settings for your handset. They are slightly different than in handsets using WAP. __________________ ask ur service provider for new settings... __________________ guys i tried to configure the 3200 and 6600 to get mms and to gprs but nothing works .... is there a glitch in these handsets or is it made tht way ?????? i noticed tht both these handsets have EDGE in it . is it cause of tht??? The same thing happened here also, a friend of mine bought the 6600 & he's anable to send or receive MMS or to use the GPRS...he asked the service provider (Vodafone) & they told him that because the device is very new they don't support it for now...they said that in a week there won't be any problems...be patient __________________ Vodafone where? UK? I live in Spain and I can´t get mine to work. I´d love to hear more on this please. I have two weeks to return the phone (which I will if this doesn´t sort itself out) or I am stuck with it! __________________ You can get the settings from Nokia as a SMS: for MMS for WAP for email and internet Ofcourse in case of 6600 this needs that service provider supports GPRS as a TCP/IP (Vodafone UK and Spain doesn't at this moment...) EDIT: these links are only for Europe. __________________ to set up the 3200 go here http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,41887,00.html ![]() __________________ y dosent that list have australia on it??? i know how 2 set up wap and mms in australia anyway __________________ Quote:
So here is for Asia etc. MMS WAP __________________ Quote:
__________________ It doesn´t include the 6600 in the Spain, Vodafone. Anyone know when they will support this phone? __________________ thanks traktori i didnt know such a thing existed i always had 2 ring up optus everythime i needed 2 change my settings __________________ Okay, I am having major headaches with this now. Vodafone say they they cannot provide me with info to make this phone operate MMS, GPRS, Email, or browsing as it works with TCP/IP. The shop I bought the phone from say they are liars and they won´t change the phone. What do I do? Has anyone in the world got this phone to work? I need to hear from you! __________________ Quote:
__________________ can you tell me in plain english what the differences in setup are between the 6600 and a conventional phone? __________________ Quote:
Edit: now if I read my own answer it sound funny to call N-Gage as a conventional phone but it's using "old" technology for GPRS, so it's a good reference. __________________ Thanks guys. I have called Nokia in Spain and they are supposed to be sending me a text with OTA settings. That was 30 mins ago. I'll let you all know. __________________ OK I have spoken at length with Nokia and they assure me that the 6600 will NOT work on the vodafone espàna network with regards to GPRS, WAP and MMS. This is categorical. I feel really pissed off now, it´s a great phone but it'll have to go. I´m swapping for a 7250i __________________ Hello, Just thought I would help you all. On this phone if you simply set your phone up in the GPRS settings under connection the standard Internet settings all will be well. Such as Vodafon UK APN Internet and password user login user etc. Just use standard internet settings and your wap will work in the standard browser on the phone plus your email. Forget about wap settings. Hope this helps. Now for the dude in Spain again simply setup on your phone the standard internet settings. If your provider does not support Internet TCPIP then you are out of luck. Regards __________________ OK. So if someone buys a vodafone live! version of this phone, the GPRS and WAP must be working - right? Mavi forum |
