Whats all the excitement with the 6230?

The design is nice, nothing too great. Small screen. Series 40 menus. Only thing it has going for it is an MP3 player. Other than that, SE T610, T630 and the upcoming K700 all win by a mile - far better design, far superior screen, much better menu design.

The dudeman is not silent, just offline .

Anyway, all your comments seem fair enough. Point taken.

That's how desperate SE fans are, they go to other forums and try to convince themselves how they like SE phones

SE very poor rf?.. I don't "HEAR" the difference when I'm using the phone... I can call where Nokia can call, and I can't call where Nokia can't call... Only diff is when my bar is 1, nokia has 2-3, but i can still make a very clear call and conversation.

Using T610 by the way =P.. hehe...

So far Nokia is famous of its better reception...

however...just like the case dxreaper mentioned...when SE got 1 bar and Nokia got 2-3 bars...both phones can call...no problem for which phone has more bars...

but...in the places where SE has no bar and Nokia has 1 bar...both phones can't call too...signal too weak...no point for calling...

so...dun worry about howmany bars are there...

The 6230 won't just sell well because of its features, it's a Nokia, and if most people had the choice between a Nokia and another phone brand, they'd choose the Nokia because of the name that Nokia have made for themselves. Although, with the phones they've released recently, I'm starting to wonder how.

I'm not trying to spark another SE - Nokia debate. There are many threads on here already comparing the K700 and 6230.

yeah I'm kinda like that , I know there are lots of competetive handsets out there and even better but i still prefer nokia even I know nokia is the king to holding back features or something lacks in thier handsets. SE, Samsung and others make good phones but I actually had a nightmare that I bought an SE phone in my dream that I didn't even know what kind of SE handset I bought, when i woke up I felt really relieved. this behavior have to go away

If you look at Nokia 6220, there were hardly any problems, wether hardware nor software. I went for the 6230 as soon as it became available here (even knowing there was a risc it could backfire on me since nokia has been releasing phones with a lot of bugs in the past 12 months) but since 6220 barely had any problems, I just went for it, and I can gladly tell you guys that we haven't had a single complaint so far.

Yes, Nokia has told us that there will be a software / firmware upgrade available as of thursday 15th, but that is only for a small portion of the 6230's that are effected by the MMS / WAP bug. I myself and my other co worker have not experienced any problems of any kind so far, and I think it will remain that way cuz Nokia seems to be back on track, testing their phones properly before shipping them.

where SE has no bars... cant call....
where nokia has 1 bar.. calls perfectly clear... my nokias always work perfect with 1 bar... se rf is horrible..

not necessarily horrible, just not as good when compared with nokia

nokia's reception so far has been very high quality though I've heard some complaints about 7600, and some other complaints in where the warranty sticker is on top of the antenna.

SE is okayish, but not necessarily horrible
