As the title suggests... What is the cheapest tri-band Nokia GSM phone on the market? A friend of mine may be moving here from America, and I want to get her a phone that will work both here (NZ) and in America. Don't really care about colour screen, camera, etc, but it MUST be tri-band, and obviously not CDMA. I know the 6610 is tri-band, but is there anything a little cheaper? Nokia's website doesn't let me do comparisons of whether a phone is tri-band or not... Thanks folks ![]() __________________ absolutly the 3100 for sure __________________ yeah the 3100 and the 3200 are tri-band and not so expencive... In some country's the 6310(i) doesn't cost that much anymore and is also a tri-band and a very good device... __________________ 3100 is still cheaper than 6310i in australia so i guess its the same as in NZ __________________ Cheers folks, I think I'll go for a 3100 (I can get one for about $345). __________________ lol they r $269 here pre paid with $10 credit __________________ Hmmm. Still tho, how much if you just want to buy it without the SIM card (which is what I'd be doing)? Another advantage of getting it here is at least I've got somewhere to go back to if the thing dies... __________________ Here in the Philippines it runs about $250 __________________ One other question folks. I'll probably be buying this for a lady who's returning to America for a few months. Now, are all Nokia accessories interchangeable? Reason I ask is, here in NZ we use 220v for appliances, but in America it's 110v (or something). If she uses someone's Nokia charger over there, would it charge the phone okay still? Or are the chargers different? __________________ Different countries using different kind of electric device...I heard some one said Nokia is kinda "universal charger"...everywhere can use...better ask for information from Nokia centre.... __________________ Yes the chargers are Universal, in such that they can accept anything from 110v to 250v. However some chargers have the plug built onto the charger, other are of the kind where you connect a cable to the charger, that then allows you to plug it in the wall. If you travel a lot, definatly go for the second option, as the connection of the cable to the charger is universal (getto blaster type). This way you just get a new cable in the counrty you stay, rather than using these dodgy plug adapters... Justa thought... ![]() __________________ i too think that 3100 is a good cheap tri band phone __________________ The 3100 is about 180 euros in Finland (220 - 225 USD). That't unlocked, like all phones over here. __________________ I actually saw a real live one today. Talk about cool. I think that's the one I'll be going for. Pity no radio tho :/ __________________ The Edge 3100 isnt that cool, lol __________________ Ah, but for what I want it for, it's fine. It was smaller than I expected...I think that's the "cool" part...I'm too used to my ol' 8310. __________________ -The Andyman- Where is your other Samsung's phone (T430??) ![]() __________________ eccentric sold about a month ago i decided i wanted a flip fone with a camera and style, plus hardly anyone in australia has E700 anyway ,i sold my X430 for $550 and got a E700 for $400 !!! __________________ -The Andyman- What? $400? ![]() 2nd hand phone? Well, now the secret weapon to court chicks upgraded deom X430 to E700... ![]() ![]() __________________ eccentric thats it ![]() i know a couple of dodgy characters i guess ![]() Mavi forum |
