Nokia 6108 IR question

Hello, I have recently purchased a Nokia 6108 which so far i am very happy with. The handwriting recognition is much better than I had expected from a low cost phone.

I have been trying to send an image file (.jpg) to my phone from my HP IPAQ 5450, the file is only 18kb but it continuously fails to send (i have successfully sent contacts over IR and both devices are seeing each other).

Is it possible to do this? I wondered if the phone did not allow such files to be sent?

did you use a program to do this?
if not, use Mobimb or Nokia PC suite for this, very good.
but i think the IPAQ is an PDA, and i don't know these programs work on that platform... there are made for Windows XP, but you can try out...
www.logomanager.co.uk
and www.nokia.com for PC suite

thanks for the reply.

No i didnt use any program, just the IR connection on both devices. I wanted to know if it could be done as I dont really want to spend $150AU on a data cable.

and if you connect your Ipaq to your computer, and use the Ipaq just as IR connector between phone and computer... don't know if this works but you can try
